When discussing the current interface to large pages in Linux, we feel there is a huge disconnect between kernel developers and hugetlbfs users. Misconceptions about the adequacy of the current interface, who uses it, and what for are pervasive. In an effort to clear the air, we are conducting interviews with Linux users who may have a use for large page functionality to document their experiences. == The Questions == The following survey text will be sent to all participants to encourage consistancy in the responses. Thanks in advance for answering our questions. This information will be shared with many Linux developers, so please be as detailed as you can in your answers. We don't need to know your company or application name, but we would appreciate it if you could tell us that as well. 1. What does your company do? 2. What does your application do? 3. How are large pages useful to you? 4. What is your experience with the Linux hugetlbfs implementation of large page support? 5. Does Linux's large page support affect your decision whether or not to use Linux? If so, how? 6. What would make large page support in Linux better for your application? == The Answers == We don't have anything to put in this section (and we may not want to). As results come in, they can be placed here, or on another page with different organization.
